Mental Fitness
During this week the class was asked to do another relaxation session, and it was certainly a much needed exercise. I found that during this weeks exercise that it was a bit more relaxing to the point that I felt my self drifting to fall asleep at times and had to get back into listening to what the speaker was saying. I'm not sure if it was a good thing that I was falling asleep, however I do feel when I drift off like that I tend "dream" of what is being said and it stays in my mind, I guess that can be a good thing. I certainly have been benefiting from these relaxation practices they help me gather my thoughts and focus on my inner self in ways that I wasn't able to do before. Spiritual wellness is different for each person my way of spiritual wellness is to pray to God, and leave whatever it is I'm dealing with in his hands. Mental wellness allows the mind to solve problems, and physical wellness allows your body to develop optimal physical strength through working out and healthy eating habits. These three traits has help me change me life in the following ways I wanted to loose what so, I got into the mind set that if I eat right exercise, then I can lose weight. I had to tell myself that I can do it even though it was hard at times and it paid off, so much so that I may have to get a smaller wedding dress, which is exciting. I believe that changes have to start with self in order for changes to show and move forward.

Loving Kindness
This week is to focus on Loving Kindness
Describe your experience. Did you find it beneficial? Difficult? Why or why not? Would you recommend this to others? Why or why not?
The experience was overall relaxing!!! To have time away from what is going on around is the best thing ever, I must admit it's like hitting the pause key, and just focusing on self. I found this activity to be beneficial since it was easy for me to focus on myself without letting any kind of distraction disturb me. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who needs time around from real life.
What is the concept of "mental workout"? What does the research indicate are the proven benefits of a mental workout? How can you implement mental workouts to foster your psychological health?
The concept of mental workout empower what our minds are capable, the mind is both powerful, and important for our well being. The research opens our minds and hearts to others, which in turn gradually diminishes self-centeredness, preparing our minds for further development (Dacher, 2006). I can image setting time for yourself in a nice quiet place can aid to optimal mental workouts.

Reflection of self
Hi Everyone
During this week in class the professor asked a series of questions and asked for us students (that's me :) ) I actually like the questions that was asked this week.
Based on your reflections, and on a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being optimal wellbeing), where do you rate your A-physical wellbeing, B-spiritual well-being, C-psychological well-being? Why?
I would rate my physical well being at a 10 the reasons as to why is because I have lost a lot weight, and it paid off after visiting my primary care physician who told me that my lab work was excellent and could be due to the weight loss which made me feel great about myself. In spiritual well-being I would have to say that I'm a 9 since I have work to do in this area, while I'm a very spiritual person and believe in God I have to work on myself more meaning that I have to let go and let God. In terms of my psychological well being I would rate myself a 10 since I feel that I have worked hard to be where I'm at in life and its only getting better from here!
Develop a goal for yourself in each area (physical, spiritual, psychological).
My goal in terms of physical is to continue with exercise to be physically fit. Spiritual I would like to have a better relationship with God. Psychological I would prepare my mind to conquer what I prepare to do physically.
What activities or exercise can you implement in your life to assist in moving toward each goal? Actually not just saying but doing what I have set my mind to will allow me to move forward in my goals.
Complete the relaxation exercise The Crime of the Century. To hear this exercise, click here. Describe your experience. (What it beneficial? Frustrating? etc.)
After completing this exercise it was beneficial. I must admit that I had a slight headache prior to starting the exercise, and after I started taking the time to reflect on myself during this exercise the headache vanished. I think that having exercises like these help you reflect on yourself, and it helps that throughout the exercise that it provides encouraging statements.

Hi Everyone,
So, I really enjoy this blog although I have only written ONE post so far, but there is many more to come! So, I just found out that I have what's called radial tunnel syndrome, and for those who are wondering what that is? Well it is something that is close to tennis elbow, but not quite tennis elbow lets just say its pretty frustrating to deal with, and not to mention it affects me when I'm on the computer, which bites since I work at a desk type of position at work and not mention a student who attends on line classes, go figure. After receiving my first and hopefully last cortisone shot that hurt like no ones business, I can only hope that, that did the trick to helping this issue. However, on a lighter note I'm enjoying writing in my blog. I hope everyone has a wonderful week "see" you all soon.
Take care!

Hi
This is my first blog in a very long time! I had a blog in the past with another class and loved it, however after the term ended I actually forgot my password and user name. I look forward to what this class has to offer! I look forward to reading everyone's blog!
